What is an SOP?

SOPs, or Safe Operating Procedures (sometimes referred to as Standard Operating Procedures), are detailed instructions that outline how to perform tasks safely. What is an SMP?

An SMP, or Safety Management Plan, serves as the blueprint for managing health and safety in your business. The scope of your SMP depends on the size and nature of your operation. Sole traders without workers (including contract workers) may not need an SMP, but once you collaborate with another business (PCBU, Persons Conducting Business or Undertakings), a plan becomes essential.
